Painting Tudor Animals – The Loyal & The Wild Holiday Art Workshop for Ages 8+ Step into the world of kings, queens, and creatures of legend in this richly detailed two-day holiday art workshop, designed especially for children aged 8 and up. In this imaginative and technique-based course, young artists will explore the symbolism and storytelling behind the animals of the Tudor period – from noble greyhounds to powerful birds of prey. We’ll take inspiration from Tudor tapestries and coats of arms, discovering how animals were used to represent loyalty, strength, and royal power. Students will then create their own Tudor-inspired animal artwork, complete with decorative backgrounds and historically accurate colour palettes. What to Expect Over two sessions, students will: - Learn about the role of animals in Tudor art and symbolism. - Break down drawings into simple shapes to form animals with accurate proportions. - Explore Tudor design motifs, including patterned backgrounds, stylised borders, and symbolic details. - Use rich colours like deep reds, golds, and greens to build texture and add embellishment. - This workshop is perfect for children who enjoy history, animals, and storytelling through art – with a strong focus on drawing and decorative detail. Skill Level Tailored for ages 8+, this workshop helps build confidence with technical skills while encouraging creative expression and individual flair.
