Service Description

Elizabeth Blackadder Inspired Floral Observational Studies This May Half Term, children are invited to explore the beauty of flowers in this calm and creative two-session workshop inspired by artist Elizabeth Blackadder, the first woman elected to the Royal Academy of Arts. In this workshop, we’ll slow down and take a closer look at real flowers, learning how to notice their shapes, patterns, and delicate details. Children will be guided step by step to create their own observational drawings before bringing them to life using colour. Across the two sessions, we’ll explore how to: Look closely and draw what we see Use light pencil marks to plan a drawing Experiment with colour, shape, and space The focus is on building confidence, enjoying the process, and helping each child develop their own style in a relaxed and supportive environment. The first session will focus on drawing and observation, while the second session will develop these ideas into a finished artwork. This workshop is perfect for children who enjoy nature, like to take their time, and want to build confidence in both drawing and painting. By the end of the workshop, each child will have created their own beautiful floral artwork inspired by careful looking and creative expression. Knowledge Required Beginner-friendly. What You'll Get All materials provided. What to Bring A bottle of water and a small nut-free snack. Please wear old clothes and dress warmly.
