Fox at Moonlight: Drawing, Colour & Composition Designed especially for younger artists, this two-session workshop explores drawing, colour and composition through the atmospheric subject of a fox at moonlight. Inspired by the work of British artist and illustrator Mark Hearld, children will look at how artists use animals, landscape, colour and pattern to build an image. They will begin by carefully observing the shape and features of a fox, learning how to break the animal down into simple forms and build their drawing step by step. Children will then develop a moonlit landscape around their fox, thinking about composition, colour, pattern and mark-making to bring the different elements of their picture together. Using a range of materials and techniques, children will develop their observational drawing skills while learning how artists combine individual elements to create a strong and imaginative composition.
