Online Workshop: Exploring Portraiture in 2 Sessions ----------------------- Join our online workshop and take your first step into the world of portraiture. In this two session workshop, we will: -- Practice closely observing portraits -- Identify different portrait elements, such as clothing, expression, pose, objects, background and colour. -- Discover how artists use these elements to express mood, feelings, and ideas in portraits. -- Learn about the past through portraits. We will be exploring different mediums, mainly pencil, pen, and colouring pencils. You are welcome to bring other art materials as there will be time to explore them during the workshop. During the first session, we will explore various techniques, learn about portraiture, and create small studies. The session will be led by the teacher, with the whole group progressing together. The teacher will provide demonstrations along the way. In the second session, we will put our knowledge into practice. Please bring a face on portrait of yourself or someone you find interesting. We will draw a portrait individually but with step by step guidance to help you along the way. WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR: We welcome all ages of children from 7 years. Although our suggested age range is up to 13 years, we welcome older children as well. We believe this age range offers the ideal opportunity for everyone to fully immerse themselves in the projects. HOW DOES IT WORK? -These classes are live and held on the platform zoom, you will need a laptop or tablet to access this. - Step by step guidance and demonstrations, seeing everything that is being created. We would love for everyone to have their camera and microphone on so we can all chat throughout. - Children are encouraged to get involved however they are welcome to chat through the chat box if they feel more comfortable. - Our online classes also offer a fantastic opportunity for children to connect with fellow young artists. Despite being in a virtual setting, they can form friendships, interact, and proudly share their incredible creations with one another.
