Get guidance and support throughout. Learn how to design, carve/etch and print your designs. Take home an edition of prints and knowledge you have learned throughout the workshop. What are the different techniques of printing that I will be learning? Drypoint printmaking Drypoint involves scratching an image into a thin plastic or metal sheet using a range of metal tools. The lines that are made are then filled with ink and transferred onto paper. Lino printmaking Lino is what we in the business call 'relief' printing and works in the opposite way to drypoint. You will work by cutting away everything but the image, then ink the outlying surface, and print onto paper. What experience do I need? You can be a complete beginner or already have experience. Our tutor will take you step by step on all processes. What will I go home with? You will leave with your own hand-made prints as well as the technical skills and knowledge to continue your artwork beyond the workshop. Do I have to bring any materials? Please bring along some reference photos and ideas of designs you may want to do. If you would like to trace these photos please bring A6 size images. We provide all materials including tools, inks, rollers, plates, plastic and paper. Bringing an apron is recommended.
