Service Description

Wild Animal Portraits Unleash your creativity in this dynamic two-day art workshop, perfect for children aged 8 and up who love animals and bold, expressive art. In this course, young artists will explore how to capture the character and beauty of wild animals through portraiture—using vibrant colours, layered textures, and striking detail. From tigers to toucans, we’ll study a range of wild animal references, looking at how artists use shape, colour, and expression to bring their subjects to life. Then, step by step, students will create animal portrait using mixed media techniques to build depth, contrast, and drama. What to Expect Over two sessions, students will: - Study animal portraits and wildlife photography to understand form, texture, and expression. - Learn how to draw animal features with attention to proportion and structure. - Explore techniques such as colour layering, blending, and mark-making. - Experiment with bold backgrounds or contrasting colours to enhance their portrait. - Complete a final piece that celebrates their chosen wild animal in vivid, expressive style. This workshop is ideal for children who love animals, enjoy creative freedom, and want to develop their drawing and mixed media skills. What to Bring - A nut-free snack and a bottle of water - Old clothes or an apron – expressive art can be messy! Session Schedule This is a two-day course, running on consecutive days during the school holidays. With small group sizes, each child receives plenty of support and encouragement. Early booking is advised.
