Let’s make art magic this holiday! Join us for a two-part workshop where the children will dive into the world of drypoint printmaking, creating their own unique prints and bringing them to life with watercolour! Our young artists will get hands-on with printmaking tools, learn how to design using intaglio mark-making techniques, and etch their masterpieces onto a drypoint plate. In the first session, kids will discover the magic of drypoint printmaking by scratching their designs into plastic plates. Then, they’ll ink them up and send them through “Olive,” our beloved studio press, watching their creations come to life on paper. In session two, it’s time to add a splash of colour! They will learn watercolour techniques to enhance their prints, filling their artwork with beautiful details that make each print uniquely their own. They’ll explore blending, layering, and adding pops of colour to bring their designs to life. These workshops are packed with skill-building and creativity, perfect for portfolio building or just holiday fun. By the end, each child will have their own mini-collection of prints to take home, proudly created from start to finish! Knowledge required Beginner-friendly.
