With Picasso’s upcoming exhibition at the Royal Academy opening on the 25th January 2020 “Picasso and Paper’ We’re celebrating his legendary artistic talent here at Lavender Leonardos.
The children will be exploring his infamous paintings and drawings through lino and mixed media. Learning the beautiful technique of Lino; from designing, carving and printing their very own inspired Picasso. With an extra element pushing your print further by adding collage.
Pablo Picasso - The Artistic Genius!
Pablo Picasso is the most famous artist of the twentieth Century. His inventiveness and the number of works he created and legendary. In his artwork he was continually searching for new ways of looking at the world. He created sculptures with torn and burnt pieces of paper, assembled collages, worked with pastel, gouache and watercolour, and spent decades investigating an array of printmaking techniques – all on the medium of paper.
Linocut is a form of relief printmaking, a popular process which attracts both artists and designers. In the same family as woodblock, wood engraving, letterpress and rubber stamping.
These workshops encourage and develop new skills whilst being lots fun, and are great for portfolio builders.
